Associate Professor I at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (FAU/UFRJ). Vice-Coordinator of PROARQ FAU/UFRJ since April 2024. Permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Architecture (PROARQ-FAU/UFRJ). Recipient of the Young Scientist of Our State Award (FAPERJ) since 2021 (Calls 2020 and 2023). Representative of FAU/UFRJ at the UNESCO Chair on Urban Drainage in Coastal Lowland Regions. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ (2013). During her doctoral studies, she carried out scientific exchange and research activities at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) and at the Centro Italiano per la Riqualificazione Fluviale (CIRF) (Italy). Her PhD dissertation received the IV Oscar Niemeyer Award (2014), granted by CREA-RJ. She earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Water Resources and Sanitation, from COPPE/UFRJ (2010), and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), for which she was awarded Cum Laude Academic Distinction in 2007. She is the leader of the CNPq-certified research groups Project and Representation of the Environment (PROARQ-FAU/UFRJ) and Urban Stormwater Management and Sustainable Cities (POLI/UFRJ). In addition, she participates in other CNPq research groups: GPAS – Design, Architecture and Sustainability (PROARQ-FAU/UFRJ) and Building Systems – Integrated Water Management in the Built Environment (POLI/UFRJ). She serves as FAU/UFRJ representative on the Research Ethics Committee of the Center for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CFCH/UFRJ) in the field of Human Sciences. She served as Head of the Department of Building Technology at FAU/UFRJ from August 2019 to July 2021 and is Coordinator of the Sanitation and Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems Laboratory at FAU/UFRJ. She is co-author of the book Urban Drainage: From Traditional Design to Sustainability, awarded 3rd place at the 58th Jabuti Prize (2016) in the category Engineering, Technology and Computer Science, as well as of the books Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems: Practical and Sustainable Design and Hydrological Risk and Disaster Management. She worked as a Hydraulic Engineer at Enel, residing in Italy from April to July 2009 while working at Enel SpA. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers – Municipal Engineer and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier), Journal of Hydrology (Elsevier), Cities (Elsevier), Sustainability (MDPI), Cadernos Metrópole, among others. She has experience in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on Water Resources and Sanitation, and her main research interests include Environmental Sanitation, Sustainable Urban Drainage, and Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems.
