PROARQ is situated on the 4th floor of the Jorge Machado Moreira Building, at Av. Pedro Calmon 550. It occupies rooms 431 to 445 (approximately 600 m²) within UFRJ at Ilha do Fundão Campus. The facility accommodates a significant number of faculty members, collaborators, researchers, master's and doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and scholarship holders accross scientific initiation, extension, and technical support programs. These iniatives are financially supported by FAPERJ, CAPES, and CNPq. The facilities include classrooms, administrative offices, a meeting room, and an auditorium with a sitting capacity of 50. Additionally, it also features research laboratories and a compact library/study area.
LABORATORIES
The physical infrastructure includes 16 laboratories that host active research groups registered and recognized by CNPq. These laboratories are fully furnished and equipped to meet specific research needs, with funding sourced from research projects, agreements, partnerships, and consultancy activities, as well as from the PAEX-PROEX program. These resources are key to maintain the laboratories, while providing opportunity to both postgraduate and undergraduate students, meeting international standards.

LIBRARY
PROARQ provides a study area in room 431, offering access to dissertations, theses, and publications for postgraduate students. Additionally, students benefit from the Integrated Library EBA-FAU-IPPUR, recently inaugurated on the mezzanine of the Jorge Machado Moreira Building. This library hosts one of the Rio de Janeiro State’s most extensive collections in Architecture, Arts, and Urban Studies and is integrated into UFRJ’s Library System (SIBI). Postgraduate students also have access to the Research and Documentation Center (NPD) collection at FAU-UFRJ.
COMPUTING EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES
PROARQ is equipped with resources acquirednot only through institutional projects but also through the approval of research projects undertaken by its faculty members in funding agencies such as CAPES, CNPq, and FAPERJ. Many of the facilities were established through agreements and partnerships with companies and advisory services for governmental organizations. The resources include approximately 85 fixed workstations, mobile workstations, printers, scanners, multimedia projectors, digital cameras, video cameras, portable audio recorders, multipoint videoconferencing systems, and televisions. Classroom 431 also features a BIM (Building Information Modeling) cell.
In addition to PROARQ's laboratories, researchers also conduct studies, mainly in the Environmental Comfort Laboratory (LCE) and the Construction Materials Teaching Laboratory.
