Coordinated by professors Ethel Pinheiro and Cristiane Rose Duarte, this research use of the concept of "spatial empathy" to understand the urban space is a perspective taken as a considerable impact potential, especially when thinking about contemporary premises for the use of public space. Researching on the subject for four years now, the LASC Research Group (Laboratory Architecture, Subjectivity and Culture) seeks to treat the key concept 'spatial empathy' as an emblem in an attempt to understand urban environments, spaces in which social relations and identity are strengthened by the collectivity. Dealing with the idea of the collectivity of ambiances - while developing the concept - it seeks collective/individual registers that configure a predisposition to certain physical spaces, the desire of this research is to structure a tool that can outline the psychological and that is activated in contact with certain spaces.
