Hybrid Landscapes is an academic research platform affiliated with the School of Fine Arts | UFRJ. Its core concept is the idea of the Invented Landscape, which, in turn, considers the organic dynamics produced by the interaction between humans, culture, and nature. This interaction leads to the materialization and manifestation of hybrid actions upon the environment. It is precisely in the creation of these ambiences that we encounter a palimpsest, where the orders, scales, and dimensions of world-building enhance different shades of landscape design: real, imaginary, scenic, sonic, artistic, funerary, artificial, cinematic, archaeological, erotic, heritage-related, landscapes of fear—in other words, landscapes composed of diverse elements that interact and complement each other in shaping everyday life.
