The 5th PROARQ Research Colloquium aims to continue the previous events in the series, held respectively in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. The justification for this continuity is part of the ongoing need for self-assessment and the establishment of goals set by the Program.
The 1st Colloquium served as a necessary meeting to consolidate the Program's integrative approach, allowing PROARQ not only to focus on its specificities but also to strengthen its unity and its role in scientific research in architecture. The 2nd Colloquium continued this previous initiative, fulfilling one of the final resolutions of the preceding event, which established the inclusion of this event in the Program's annual calendar.
In the 3rd and 4th Colloquia, it was possible to observe the development of the work presented in the previous years and to envision the various interfaces that can be established between the research from different lines. The 5th Colloquium will intensify the integration and articulation of different experiences and knowledge generated by professors, researchers, and undergraduate and graduate students of PROARQ, as well as promote greater dissemination of research, agreements, and partnerships within the program. It will also allow for closer exchange with other postgraduate programs through the arrival of their representatives to fully participate in the scheduled activities.
As it is an open event held at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at UFRJ, it will also increase the interest of undergraduate students in future engagement in scientific research.
The main objectives of the 5th Colloquium are to continue the work and issues presented in previous events; bring together all professors, researchers, and students of the program to discuss, share, and exchange experiences from each research group, enhancing the production of knowledge, science, and technology in the field of architecture; strengthen the involvement of undergraduate students, also forecasting the presentation of scientific initiation projects in the space dedicated to each research group; and disseminate both faculty and student scientific production in order to promote the consolidation of the Research Groups.
