BOOK LAUNCH “The Plan: Intertwining Perspectives through Rocinha”
The Prolugar + SEL Group, the PROARQ imprint, and the organizer, architect and urban planner Luiz Carlos Toledo, invite you to the launch of the book “The Plan: Intertwining Perspectives through Rocinha.”
The book narrates over thirty years of engagement by Luiz Carlos Toledo with Rocinha, revealing the challenges, achievements, and lessons learned in the urban development of one of Brazil’s largest favelas. Drawing on practical experience and a deep commitment to the community, Toledo offers a sensitive and critical reflection on participatory planning, public policy, and the role of social architecture.
The work invites professionals and readers to reflect on the importance of collaboration, active listening, and respect for local specificities in building fairer and more inclusive cities. On this occasion, there will be a discussion table with architect and urban planner Dr. Luiz Carlos Toledo and Prof. Vera Tângari, moderated by Prof. Rubens de Andrade.
