Retired Full Professor at COPPE and UFRJ Polytechnic School. He served as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Engineering - UERJ; Coimbra University; Technical University of Berlin; CETHIL-INSA de Lyon; and INSA and ENSA from Toulouse, France. Practice areas: Sustainability in Architecture (bioclimatism, environmental comfort, and multicriteria analysis); Heat transfer (equipment and systems); Thermal and electrical conversion of Solar Energy (equipment and systems); Sustainability in Architecture (bioclimatism, environmental comfort, ventilation, and multicriteria analysis). He received the CAPES Grand Prize for Thesis Antonio Houaiss 2015, as a doctoral thesis advisor, awarded for the 1st time in the area of ​​architecture and urbanism.
