Academic Structure

PROARQ offers mandatory and elective courses every trhee months, aiming at all Master's student to take at least 360 (three hundred and sixty) hours of classes, and a 450 (four hundred and fifty) hours of classes for Doctorate students.

Deadlines

A. For the defense of dissertations
The time for the defense, from the date of enrollment in the Master, is 36 months. Extensions will be permitted utilizing documentation with an official and justified request from the supervisor and the student, for a restricted period of up to 6 (six) months after the regulatory period. 

B. For the Qualification Examination
The Qualification Examination for the Master's Course must be carried out in a period not exceeding 15 (fifteen) months, counted from the enrollment.

ATTENTION!

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the DEFENSE DEADLINES of the Master's 2019 and Master's 2020 classes have been benefited from the SUSPENSION OF THE COUNTING OF DEFENSE DEADLINES, as ruled and instructed by RES CEPG 06/2021 (CLICK HERE).

Therefore, the TOTAL deadlines of each class ensure that defenses can occur UNTIL:

Master's Class 2019 - 02/28/2023

Master's Class 2020 - 04/30/2024

ADVISORS/SUPERVISION

The advisor/professor must belong to the group of permanent professors or collaborating professors of PROARQ.

According to the advisor and with the approval of the Program's Deliberative Commission, the guidance may be shared with doctoral professors from other Programs, according to criteria of suitability for carrying out the student's research.
