He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidade Federal da Bahia (1997) and a Master’s and Ph.D. from the Civil Engineering Program at COPPE/UFRJ (2003). Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Technology at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (DTC-FAU/UFRJ) and a Professor in the Graduate Program in Architecture at UFRJ (PROARQ-UFRJ). He is the Coordinator of the Laboratory for Teaching in Construction Materials and Soils and the Experimental Construction Site at FAU/UFRJ, where he conducts teaching activities and develops research and outreach projects. He is currently the Coordinator of the Tríplice Fronteira Norte Interinstitutional Ph.D. Program between UFRJ and UFRR (Universidade Federal de Roraima). His expertise lies in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Construction Materials and Concrete Structures. His research interests include construction systems, building materials, sustainability, concrete, structural pathology, numerical modeling, and optimization.
