Graduated in Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), graduated in Architecture - École d'Architecture from Paris-La Villette (1983), master's degree from the Universite de Paris XII (Paris-Val-de-Marne) (1985) and doctorate from the Université de Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) (1993). Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California Berkeley (2014). Retired in 2018, with the title Full Professor of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She works as permanent professor at Proarq / UFRJ. and has experience in the area of ​​Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on Urban Space Design, working mainly on the following themes: cultural aspects of space construction, accessibility and ethnography of the city. She received an international award from the Association Européene pour l'Enseignement de l'Architecture for the best methodology for teaching architecture in the 2003-2004 biennium; several award-winning publications; several motions of congratulations for the centric work carried out. She was a member of the CNPq Advisory Committee for the area of ​​Applied Social Sciences (2009/2012). She has published several works, guides post-graduate work (master's and doctorate) in Architecture and Urbanism.
