SELF EVALUATION

community FOLLOW UP

self-evaluation is fundamental for improving the quality of PPG activities and has been used for years by several strategies. The mere quantitative assessment, based exclusively on the number of bibliographic productions carried out in a given period, prevents a more correct assessment of the contribution of research to society, often mapped into practical actions and technical products that are conveyed in different ways and materialize in different ways. progress indices of the Program. The actions are taken in the search to resolve weaknesses and expand the strengths of PROARQ also need to be recognized. In this way, it is understood the need to establish qualitative requirements in the evaluation of the Program's performance, considering the impact of the research developed in the improvement of architecture and urbanism.

Among the qualitative requirements feasible in an evaluation process, we can mention the changes implemented from scientific research in undergraduate (Scientific Initiation) and in graduate courses, the diffusion of new ways of working and survey methods, the possibility of access to rooms of study, and consultation of data, dissemination of new materials, techniques and technologies that alter the production of the built environment, the construction of lectures, disciplines, courses, and workshops aimed at the internal and external community with free access to postgraduate courses, the incentive to respect and appreciate the built heritage and the landscape, the improvement of the Program's physical, professional and social environment, among others. These are some items that can be analyzed in a continuous qualitative evaluation - to name a few examples, and we care A LOT.

PROARQ has been striving, for more than 10 years, to institute a profitable moment of annual self-aevaluation of the Master's and Doctorate course, since the 1st. PROARQ Research Colloquium (in 2010 - CLICK HERE), bringing up points that deserve attention for their improvement or maintenance. More recently, since 2020, in addition to the Colloquiums, a meeting entitled 'DIÁLOGOS PROARQ' was established, which for the remote edition of 2020 was called 'VIRTUAL DIALOGUES', as a moment of this necessary self-assessment - always mediated by analysis criteria based on in the Strategic Development of the Program.

Besides this moment of meetings, a permanent virtual space is part of the PROARQ website. In this virtual space, we created a PROARQ's CONTINUOUS MONITORING system, based on some types of surveys that can be completed by Proarq egresses and students close to their defenses, in addition to teachers, once a year - each year preferably at the end of November.

The purpose of each survey is to concentrate responses  from egresses, as well as from active groups' members between postgraduate students and professors, at annual intervals to understand, as Course Coordination, how to improve the Postgraduate program in Architecture at strengths points and work in weaknesses ones.
