The research aims to study how social representations continually construct and transform landscapes, in particular: urban planning and design; the design and construction of large architectural objects and the design and construction of works of art. Specifically, it is dedicated to the study of: the construction of landscape through discourse and form (construction of ideals and imagery); planning as a cultural idealization and as a justification for investment vectors; informal manifestations as opposed to formal planning and teaching as a way of constructing thinking about urban and landscape planning. Its objective is to transform the landscape of the Metropolitan Region of the City of Rio de Janeiro, putting into discussion the very concept of Metropolitan Region, being able, by methodological definition, to observe other national or international territories. Recently, he has been dedicating himself to the analysis of Master Plans and Neighborhood Impact Studies and Reports of large projects that took place in the City of Rio de Janeiro due to financial investments and incentives from public authorities.
