Today, we held the inaugural lecture marking the opening of the 2026 academic year at PROARQ, led by the program’s new coordination, now carried out by Professors Sylvia Rola and Aline Calazans.
The program began with a welcome session for the new master’s and doctoral students, as well as the new postdoctoral researchers, in a moment of reception and integration into the academic community.
This was followed by a roundtable discussion bringing together coordinators of graduate programs in Architecture rated 7 by CAPES, fostering a dialogue on the challenges and perspectives of graduate education in the field.
• Professor Eunice Abascal, from the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie;
• Professor Tomas Moreira, from the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism (IAU), USP São Carlos;
• Professor Altamiro Bessa, from the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (NPGAU) at the School of Architecture of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (EA-UFMG);
• Professor Andrea Queiroz, from the Graduate Program in Architecture, PROARQ/FAU/UFRJ.
