The PROARQ 2026 Opening Lecture will feature Anacláudia Rossbach, an economist with more than 20 years of experience in housing, informal settlements, and urban policies.


On June 7, 2024, she was appointed Executive Director of UN-Habitat, at the level of Under-Secretary-General, by the United Nations General Assembly, following a nomination by the Secretary-General, and assumed office in August of the same year.


Prior to this role, she served as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. She also worked as Regional Manager at Cities Alliance, where she founded the Urban Housing Practitioners Hub.


At the World Bank, she supervised the development and implementation of Brazilian public policies related to housing and slum upgrading.
