On August 21–22, 2025, the XVII International Seminar on Urbanism Research (SIIU) brought together researchers in Brazil (Campinas) and Spain (Valencia), including members of the PROARQ community.

Former master’s student and current PhD candidate Vitor Maciel, along with PhD candidate Luiz Fernando da Rocha, both advised by Professor Dr. Giselle Arteiro, presented research developed within the Research Group Environment–Education (GAE).

Former master’s student Sofia Taiarol also presented work carried out under the supervision of Professor Dr. Vera Tângari, coordinator of the Research Groups Places and Landscapes (ProLUGAR) and Open Spaces System of Rio de Janeiro (SEL-RJ), who also chaired one of the XVII SIIU sessions.

Master’s student Rachel Alves (PGPP/UFRJ), collaborator of the Research Group Laboratory of Architecture, Subjectivity, and Culture (LASC), contributed with the presentation of the paper “Urban Narratives of Invisible Characters: The (Un)Public Policies in the City of Homeless People”, co-authored with Professor Dr. Ethel Pinheiro.

This participation reaffirms PROARQ’s commitment to scientific production and international collaboration in architecture and urbanism.
