The headquarters of the Lyra de Arion Musical Society, a traditional band from Santo Antônio de Pádua, RJ, was built in 1900 to house the band and over the years, it was degraded, until it was closed for use. Despite being in a state of disrepair, it is a building that presents a strong relationship with the affective memory of the people, being a cultural asset of value to the municipality. The Musical Society integrates the history of Santo Antônio de Pádua as a landmark of a tradition and its house materially represents the band, giving it its own identity. After studying the object and field research, based on bibliographic research on the theme, this work proposes an intervention proposal in the house of the band's headquarters, based on the recomposition of its image as it is present in the memories of the population, with the use of new materials , and the construction of a new annex, of a contemporary character, which is integrated into the historic building. Therefore, the intervention proposal will aim to return the original use related to music and preserve the collective memory records, as well as the history of the building and the band. It will be necessary to look for what the house meant in the past to intervene cautiously in the present, demonstrating the importance of this cultural asset, which despite not having great architectural value, presents an invaluable affective value and sense of belonging to the inhabitants of Santo Antônio de Pádua.
