Fabiola do Valle Zonno holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Social History of Culture, in the research line of History of Art and Architecture, and is a Specialist in Communication and Image, from PUC-Rio. She is an Architect and Urban Planner with a Magna cum Laude degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she teaches as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in the Department of History and Theory. She is a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Architecture at UFRJ (PROARQ), and is a co-leader of the LANA Group (Laboratory of Narratives in Architecture), and of the Graduate Program in Design and Heritage (PGPP). She coordinates the research project: Entre Arte, Arquitetura e Paisagem (Entre Arte, Arquitetura e Paisagem) (Entre Arte, Arquitetura e Paisagem - Teoria e Crítica da Complexidade Contemporânea), dedicated to reflecting on design thinking and interdisciplinary practices, as well as educational practices, and is particularly dedicated to the theme of Memory and contemporary interventions in preexisting structures. She is the author of the book Complex Places, Poetics of Complexity: Between Architecture, Art and Landscape (2014) and coordinator of the special project digital exhibition Atlas.Memória.UFRJ (2022). She is a member of the Structuring Teaching Nucleus of FAU-UFRJ (Oct 2019-present), representative of the Associated Teachers in the Congregation of FAU UFRJ (June 2022-present) and Extension Coordinator of PROARQ (2024). She served as Coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Project and Heritage (Feb 2020-Feb 2022), Member of the Heritage GT of the UFRJ 2030 Master Plan; Teaching Coordinator at PROARQ (April 2018-April 2020), Head of the Department of History and Theory (2018-2019), occasional substitute for the Head of the Department of History and Theory (2016-2017), President of CPG-FAU (2017-2018) and Coordinator of Final Graduation Work at FAU-UFRJ (2014-2016).
