He conducts research in the areas of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Performance Assessment of Building Systems and Buildings, Sustainable Materials, Project Management of Sustainable Buildings, Energy Efficiency of Buildings, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Circular Economy, Smart Buildings and Cities. He has initiated a new research project on the topic of decommissioning of oil and gas exploration facilities (PETROBRÁS). He was one of the contributing authors of Chapter 9 (Buildings) of the Sixth Report (AR6) of the IPCC. He participates as a researcher in thematic studies of the Brazilian Panel on Climate Change (PBMC). He has provided specialized consultancy on sustainable construction for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), Sinduscon-SP, TENDA Construtora, Studio Arthur Casas, among others. He participates in research and cooperation groups with the Center for Teaching and Research in Materials and Technologies of Low Environmental Impact in Sustainable Construction (NUMATS/COPPE/UFRJ), Federal University of Goiás (UFG), University of Brasília (UnB), Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), Università degli Studi di Salerno (Italy), ETH-Zurich University (Switzerland) and University of Aveiro (Portugal). He is currently participating as a researcher in the IEA SHC TASK 70 | EBC Annex 90: LOW CARBON, HIGH COMFORT INTEGRATED LIGHTING coordinated by the International Energy Agency (IEA). He teaches courses on sustainable buildings and smart cities in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Architects (IAB-RJ) and the Council of Architecture and Urbanism (CAU/RJ). He was a project consultant for the certification of sustainable buildings EDGE Buildings by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He participated as a member of the Scientific, Executive and Advisory Committee established for the creation of the Construction Environmental Performance Information System (Sidac) under the coordination of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). He is a reviewer of national and international scientific journals in the areas of Architecture, Civil Construction and Sustainability. He publishes articles in important journals and proceedings of scientific events in the areas of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. He writes articles for blogs specialized in Architecture and Urbanism, such as ArchDaily. He served as a visiting professor on an international mission at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy).
